The village of Saltford lies in the unitary authority area of Bath and North East Somerset and is situated between the cities of Bristol and Bath, being 7 miles from Bristol and 5 miles from Bath. The River Avon creates a natural boundary with Kelston and the village is surrounded by Green Belt. Saltford is classified as a rural settlement by Bath & North East Somerset Council. Saltford’s Placemaking Plan was produced by a Working Group appointed by the Parish Council, and the community was consulted on its contents between 23 November and 6 December 2013.  Cllr Kevin Reeves would like to thank everyone who contributed to this process and those who responded to the consultation.

The purpose of this plan is to complement the strategic planning framework provided in the Bath & North East Somerset’s Core Strategy.  It provides an updated and refreshed planning policy framework for managing development in the Parish of Saltford.
