SPC has been informed that B&NES Council has checked the trees along the greenway near the Bristol to Bath Path (the path from under Mead Lane bridge behind the Bird, to/from the B2B Path).
Though B&NES Council has said that no immediate works are required, they’ve shared that some trees affected by Ash Dieback will need to be removed later this autumn, to keep the path safe for everyone.
B&NES Council signs will be up soon at this location to advise of these works.

Map generated by SPC to indicate general area of the green way, for reference only and not indicative of the exact locations of where trees will be removed.
The dates for the tree works is yet to be confirmed, but SPC will share updates if more information is received from B&NES Council. B&NES Council has let SPC know that any storm-related tree work, like after Storm Amy this weekend, could affect the timing of these planned tree works.
B&NES Council has also shared that improvements are being considered to the path, likely to make it more useable year-round.
SPC appreciates that it’s sad to see these Ash trees removed, but recognises that these measures are necessary to keep the greenway safe for everyone.
