Information available from Saltford Parish Council under the publication scheme - Saltford Parish Council

The table below details information that Saltford Parish Council can provide in order to meet its commitments under the ICO model publication scheme (as adopted by SPC).

Before a request is made for information, it may be helpful to see if the information required is already available on the Saltford Parish Council website. For instance, Parish Council decisions, spend and planning responses can be found in the council’s minutes.

Please note that Saltford Parish Council’s information is available unless: it does not hold the information; the information is exempt under one of the FOIA exemptions or Environmental Information Regulations exceptions, or its release is prohibited by another statute; the information is readily and publicly available from its own or an external website; such information may have been provided by the public authority or on its behalf; the information is archived, out of date or otherwise inaccessible; or, it would be impractical or resource-intensive to prepare the material for routine release.

Further, if using AI to formulate a FOI request, please view the ICO’s guidance on using AI to ensure any request reflects your actual information needs. Overly complex requests can increase the burden on public bodies and cost to the taxpayer, which is a consideration as to whether a request may be impractical or resource-intensive to prepare for routine release.

If the information is only held by another public authority, SPC will look to provide details of the public authority on where to obtain it.

Requests for information will be redacted as appropriate in line with GDPR.

Please note that it is sometimes the case that that requests for any information made to SPC – if not already available in the public domain – may subsequently be added to a Parish Council’s website (or shared via other communication forms), so it is publicly available in case of any similar future requests or if it is a matter that several FOI requests have been made about.

The decision to publish information, including those from FOI requests, belongs to the Parish Council. If Salford Parish Council chooses to add information that has been requested as part of a FOI to its website (or shares via other communication forms), some information as required may be redacted by Saltford Parish Council prior to publication.
