B&NES Council to contact residents to check household voter details (between Sept & Nov 2025)

Saltford residents will from this week be receiving contact via post or email from B&NES Council – the elections authority for our area – as part of their annual canvass. For resident’s awareness, SPC has received the following information from B&NES Council:

Bath and North East Somerset residents are being urged to check their electoral registration details in a letter or email they will receive from the council starting from 1st September.

The letters and emails are part of the annual canvass, which enables B&NES Council to keep the electoral register up to date. B&NES Council will directly contact all households between now and November.

Households are being asked to follow step-by-step instructions to check the information held by B&NES Council is correct, so that everyone who has the right to vote in any upcoming elections can have their say.

Will Godfrey, Electoral Registration Officer at Bath & North East Somerset Council, said: “It’s really important that everyone who is eligible to vote is able to do so. Please keep an eye out for an email or a letter from the council in the next few weeks. The annual canvass is our way of making sure that the information on the electoral register for every address is accurate and up to date. To make sure you don’t lose your say at upcoming elections, simply follow the instructions sent to you.”

The emails will be sent by the Electoral Registration Officer with the subject line ‘Check and confirm your household voter details’. Residents can verify that the email is not a scam by going on B&NES Council website (www.bathnes.gov.uk/annual-canvass) or by calling the B&NES Council electoral services team.
