Emergency Road Closure – The Shallows: 11 Sept for 3 weeks (Wessex Water works)

Saltford Parish Council has been informed by B&NES Council, the Highways Authority, that The Shallows will have a road closure commencing on 11 September for three weeks.

TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF USE BY VEHICLES
In pursuance of Section 14(2)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984:
BATH AND NORTH EAST SOMERSET COUNCIL HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that on 11th September 2023, The Shallows, Saltford shall be closed to all traffic, in the interests of public safety, to enable Wessex Water to carry out emergency works due to external flooding – dismantle rising main pipework within the chamber to allow for entry.
The road will be closed at The Shallows, Saltford from its junction with High Street, Saltford extending south for approximately 70 metres, but the closure shall not apply to any vehicle associated with the works.
Alternative Route: The Shallows (remainder) – A4 Bath Road – Beech Road – High Street – Vice Versa.
The closure and diversion will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.
These works will commence on 11th September 2023 and the road closure is anticipated to be required for 3 weeks. This Notice will have a maximum duration of 4 weeks.
