Grange Road reopens: Wales and West Utilities thank residents for patience - Saltford Parish Council

Grange Road will reopen to traffic on Monday 25 April.

Wales and West Utilities have said a massive thank you to the residents of Saltford, for being so patient with them when they were completing their works.

Works initially started on 4 March and were meant to last around 12 days. However the connection at Grange Road had taken WWU a lot longer than planned, due to unforeseen circumstances. This is why the closure had to stay in place longer than anticipated, but the junction closure will be removed today.

WWU have shared that excavations at the junction of Grange Road took a lot longer to dig out, due to road surface below the tarmac being foam concrete. Due to this they had to take greater care to excavate and WWU found existing utilities located on top of their main which slowed up the process.

WWU say gas works are completed now, they have finished backfilling all the excavations and from today (Monday 25 March) they will be reinstating verges with topsoil and seed. WWU will also start removing our barriers and plant from the area.
