Have your say - Avon Fire & Rescue Service Plan Consultation - Saltford Parish Council

Avon Fire and Rescue Service have contacted Saltford Parish Council to raise awareness of its proposals for its latest Service Plan, and to encourage local residents to do the same by filling out their online survey. This survey is available to all local people to complete.

Avon Fire and Rescue’s seven-week public consultation on their Service Plan Proposals 2022–25 will run until 18 February.

The Proposals outline their vision for the future of Avon Fire & Rescue Service in preventing, protecting and responding to the fire and rescue related risks and needs of our local communities.

Avon Fire and Rescue believe its Service Plan Proposals consider a robust strategic risk profile of its operational area up until 2025, aligned to the changing environment and demanding financial and political climate it continues to face. They need resident help and would appreciate the views of local communities, and kindly ask residents to read their draft proposals and tell us their thoughts by completing a survey.

The online consultation survey, where residents can also download and read their Service Plan Proposals 2022–25, can be accessed here: www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/W2VL9LG.  Alternatively, if you need the proposals or consultation in another format please call 0117 926 2061 or email Consultation@avonfire.gov.uk.

Mick Crennell, Chief Fire Officer for AF&RS said: “Avon Fire & Rescue Service exists to serve our local communities and everything we do is aimed at making our area a better place for all who live and work here. We are asking for local people’s views on our proposed commitments to keep our local communities safe and our plans to match our resources to manage, prevent and protect the public from identified risks.

“The proposals and any feedback you provide will then inform our Service Plan, which is our contract with our staff, our partners and the local communities we serve, to the service we’ll work to achieve over the next five years. If you agree with our planning approach and the priorities we’ve outlined, we want to hear from you. If you disagree or feel something has been overlooked, tell us, we want to hear from you.  Have your say on the future of your fire service now.”

Together through the commitments laid out within these proposals, Avon Fire and Rescue state that they will continue to work together to make communities safer and make the Service stronger.

Avon Fire and Rescue say that they welcome views on their proposals and look forward to hearing from residents and communities.
