The Highways Authority, B&NES Council, has given notice of planned roadworks (including road closures) and proposed work looking to take place on the High Street in Saltford.
The first planned roadworks will be for up to a maximum of one day – but likely to be a half day only – outside number 13 High Street to repair a manhole cover as part of the Wessex Water maintenance programme. Due to the location of the works a road closure will be required with a diversion route on The Shallows. SPC is awaiting further information, including a detailed diversion route. The repair and associated road closure required has been organised for 23rd September and further communications including letters and information signs will be deployed two weeks beforehand. The second proposed work will be carried out by Wales & West Utilities to complete connection works. B&NES Council have stated that the works duration will be 12 calendar days at the junction of Homefield Road. Again, to manage traffic for the works there may need to be a road closure with a diversion on The Shallows (similar to above, further information to be received). Wales & West will communicate information about these works nearer the time. Prior to the works Wales & West Utilities will be using a camera to assess the section of mains and may potentially be able to complete the connection under ‘Give & Take’, however it will not be possible to confirm until following the camera survey. SPC will look to share any information received with residents as soon as possible.
Saltford Parish Council awaits further information about the Mead Lane project in progress by Wessex Water (including relating to the bridge works). Information will be shared with residents about any roadworks associated with the project once received.
