Saltford Parish Council has been informed by B&NES Council about planned roadworks that will impact on those in vehicles and using local paths near the site of the Keynsham Recycling Hub project (Pixash Lane, Keynsham).
Delays are likely on the A4 Bath Road at weekends between 26 July and 11 September. Times are as follows: Saturday (8am – 6pm) and Sunday (9am -5pm). Two way traffic control signals will be in place.
UPDATE 1/8/22: There will also be a road closure on Pixash Lane in Keynsham from its junction with Ashmead Road extending north to its junction with Stidham Lane. This is to install a 11kv ducted cable by Western Power on 30 August for a maximum period of three weeks. The road will only be restricted as and when traffic signs are in position and may not be effected for the whole period but only for so long as is necessary to execute the works. This is anticipated to be for eleven nights between 6:30pm and 7:30am. B&NES Council have shared that Western Power Distribution (WPD) will be carrying out works between 26 July and 11 September to reinforce its network and provide the necessary infrastructure for the recycling hub. B&NES Council has stated that their contractor for the works, Farrans (and their contractors), aim to schedule any essential highways and utility works to reduce the level of disruption during the construction of the Keynsham Recycling Hub .
Part of the work will involve installing a new cable from the junction of Chandag Road and Bath Road (B3116 – into / out of Keynsham from the Broadmead Roundabout) along the A4 Bath Road and up Pixash Lane to the public recycling centre.
There will be manned 3-way traffic lights at Chandag Road when the works are taking place and either manned 2-way traffic lights or pedestrian crossings when necessary along the rest of the route. Current One.Network about works on Chandag Road can be found at https://one.network/?GB129553047 and https://one.network/?GB129251622. Please view the One.Network website for further information about planned roadworks in the area.
Although the cabling work will mainly run in the footpath, there will be lane closures at the junction of the B3116 Bath Road and Keynsham Bypass roundabout (Broadmead Roundabout) to allow safe working and pedestrian access (29 July – 5 August).
WPD will be working 7am to 7pm Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm Saturday and 9am to 5pm Sunday (if required).
B&NES have stated that all work on the A4 Bath Road will be carried out at the weekend to reduce traffic disruption, and that WPD will notify all residents and businesses along the route and put out advanced warning signs.
Following a resident request, SPC has liaised with B&NES Council and additional signage about the works will be on both the Broadmead and the Globe Inn roundabouts, further to existing signage on display.
Residents can follow the construction progress on the B&NES Council website at www.bathnes.gov.uk/keynshamrecyclinghub
Further to the information above, B&NES Council have shared that up until early December there will be closures, partial closures and diversions on the surrounding roads from time to time.
