Outbuilding/Shed/Garage Burglaries - Saltford Parish Council

Avon and Somerset Police have advised residents that sheds, garages and other outbuildings continue to be popular targets for thieves across the policing area.

Bicycles are still the most popular target, but tools continue to be stolen and as the weather improves demand for all forms of gardening equipment will increase.

Please look at the security of your property and outbuildings. Ideally, keep offenders out of your garden by locking gates, adding security lights and CCTV, and growing plants that have sharp thorns. Lock away any items like ladders and spades that could be used by burglars to reach open windows or force ground floor doors and windows. Security mark things like lawnmowers and keep a note of any serial number or other identifying marks.
