Please note that these are Wessex Water works, any enquiries need to be directed to Wessex Water, or B&NES Council as the Highways Authority. SPC has no powers regarding roadworks or highways.
Signs advising residents of the road closure will also be in place. Please see images far below for the section of highway that will be closed and alternative route information.

These works and the road closure has been postponed due to flooding on the alternative route. They will be rescheduled for another date. SPC will share this information once available.

B&NES Council (the Highways Authority) and Wessex Water have informed SPC that a planned road closure will take place on Friday 13 January on Saltford High Street.
Please view a letter from Wessex Water to residents. This also contains a map of where the works will be taking place on Saltford High Street (and indicatively alternative route to avoid the closure).
Alternative Route: Via Beech Road – Bath Road – The Shallows – Vice Versa.
The works are to enable Wessex Water to raise a sunken manhole cover in the carriageway. The road will be closed at High Street, Saltford from the point outside property number 9 extending to number 13, but the closure shall not apply to any vehicle associated with the works.
The closure and diversion will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.
The Wessex Water letter states:
“If you live where we are carrying out work, you will still have pedestrian access to your property.
Please find alternative parking during the road closure if you normally park in the area concerned.
We’re happy to help if you have any concerns around vehicular access, please call us on 0345
600 4 600 (Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm) prior to work starting. Every effort will be made to keep disruption to a minimum and complete the essential work as
quickly as possible”.
