Following Saltford Parish Council’s request to B&NES Council, and as part of the approved 2021/2022 Highway Maintenance Capital Programme, B&NES Council will be undertaking resurfacing works to Tyning Road, Saltford.
These works will commence on Monday 15th November 2021 and will be carried out by Volker Highways (as contracted by B&NES Council).
Road closures – Tyning Road
The works on Tyning Road are proposed to be undertaken under full road closures during the day between 07.00 and 19.00 hours and are expected to take 4 days to complete. Please find below a copy of the letter which B&NES Council has delivered to properties in the area.
During the works there will be a full road closure with NO VEHICULAR ACCESS (except for Emergency and restricted access to residents when safe to do so under the control of Traffic Marshalls) and a local signed diversion route will be in place. Unfortunately the nature of the work and machinery required means it is not possible for B&NES Council to complete the works in a way where we can maintain vehicular access, however the road will be re-opened each evening on completion of the days scheduled works.
Inclement weather or good progress on site may mean the timings change as B&NES Council state that they will always try to complete works as quickly as possible to minimise disruption.
Road closure – Uplands Road
An emergency road closure will also take place on Uplands Road on 15 November 2021 for one day only. Please see image below for information shared by B&NES Council.
This states that the road closure will be on Uplands Rd, Saltford, from its junction of Fairways extending to its junction of Golf Club Lane.
Alternative Route; Uplands Road – Uplands Drive – Uplands Road – A4 Bath Road – Manor Road – Golf Club Lane.
The closure and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.
