Police Update

At the July meeting of the Forum, the Keynsham Beat Team gave a crime summary for the wider Keynsham area dating from 1 April to the present. To view a copy of the summary please see here. This document also lists members of the Keynsham Beat Team and provides their email addresses (please note there may be a delay in response due to shift patterns).

Further to the information shared at the Keynsham Area Forum, SPC has been contacted subsequently by the police regarding criminal damage to a number of houses recently. Several properties on Montague Road, Saltford, were damaged during the night of Thurs 23 June. A ground floor window had the outer pane of glass shattered at one home, three conservatory windows were smashed at another property while a third had a rear window damaged. It is believed that the offender has used a catapult-type weapon to cause the damage. If you have any information please call the police on 101, giving either of the reference numbers 5222149534, 5222149717 or 5222150531. Or you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111

Fire Service Update

The Station Manager for the Hicks Gate team also provided a report. Following SPC’s request for Avon Fire and Rescue at Saltford’s river side areas during hot spells due to water safety concerns, the station manager has stated:

Hicks Gate will always continue to deliver safety advice to help reduce the incidents we attend which will include water safety advice at Saltford community hall in early July. The day will include a boat from Bath Fire Station giving out advice to the community at the marina and areas around the local Pubs to help educate the dangers of swimming during the hot weather.

For a full copy of the Hicks Gate team’s Fire Service Summary dated June 2022 please see here.

Members of the Hicks Gate team will be at Saltford Hall this Saturday (2nd July) at the Saltford Festival Open Morning. Residents are encouraged to take this opportunity to engage with the team about any water safety concerns they may have.
