Roadworks: Keynsham Bypass near Broadmead Roundabout 5 – 23 July, expect delays. - Saltford Parish Council

B&NES Council has advised of upcoming work by Wessex Water planned on the A4 Keynsham Bypass which will require a lane closure. The roadworks will take place between 5 – 23 July. Please find information on One.Network for these works at https://one.network/?GB138959467

The reason for the works as listed on One.Network is stated as sewer renovation works. Works are being carried out by Wessex Water ( https://www.wessexwater.co.uk/ ). One.Network states that works will be carried on at the following location: ‘Roundabout/Junct with Bath Road/Broadmead Lane to Approx 15 metres North of 37 Gaston Avenue’.

B&NES Council (the Highways Authority) has shared that although two way traffic will be maintained traffic, traffic moving from the direction of Saltford towards Bristol will experience delays due the works location just off Broadmead Roundabout.

B&NES Council has stated that it understands that works would have been better if carried out within a school holiday but that unfortunately due to other works planned within the upcoming summer holidays and the nature of the work required, works cannot delay further as this would risk a sewer collapse. Please see SPC’s article ‘A4 roadworks planned for summer 2024: Expect delays July 2024 to 30 August‘, which details information about roadworks on the A4 between the Globe Roundabout and Uplands Road during the school summer holidays.

Wessex Water has deployed temporary electronic variable messages, and SPC has been informed that Wessex Water will also carry out letter drops and contact the local schools directly to advise of the upcoming disruption. B&NES Council will also raise awareness via its X account (formerly Twitter), at https://x.com/BATHNESHighways.

Saltford Parish Council aims to share roadworks information received from B&NES Council (the Highways Authority), however is not consulted on roadworks and does not have access to further information then that shared with the Parish Council. If residents have any queries about roadworks, they are advised to contact the company or organisation carrying out the works. Information can be found on One.Network.
