Saltford celebrates SPC's Community Awards 2022 and SCA’s ‘Big Thank You’ - Saltford Parish Council

Following the success of last year’s event, Saltford Parish Council and Saltford Community Association again joined together to co-host a community celebration. SPC’s Community Awards and SCA’s ‘Big Thank You’ marked the contributions of those who go the extra mile to make Saltford a very special place to live and work.

The event took place at Saltford Hall on the evening of Friday 1 April in front of an audience of around 100 residents.

The event began with Saltford’s Annual Parish Meeting, hosted by Saltford Parish Council Chair Cllr Chris Warren. Cllr Warren provided a report on the activity of the Parish Council over the past year (draft minutes will be added to SPC’s website and noticeboard by mid-April).

The Annual Parish Meeting was followed by SPC’s Community Awards 2022 ceremony. SPC’s Community Awards publicly recognise individuals and teams who have made a significant contribution to the village over the past year. Those in receipt of a Community Award had been nominated by residents and chosen by SPC during a closed session at its March meeting.

Cllr Chris Warren stated following the awards ceremony ‘Saltford Parish Council congratulates all the winners of its 2022 Community Awards, and thanks all wider members of the community – many of whom are here this evening – whose efforts make Saltford such a caring and special place to be’. Cllr Warren expressed a special thank you to all the nominators and winners for attending the evening’s celebrations.

The SCA’s ‘Big Thank You’ part of the evening enabled community volunteers from Saltford Community Post Office & Library, all SCAN deliverers and the SCA itself to all be together to be thanked by the SCA for their efforts over the past year. The SCA’s ‘Big Thank You’ was led by Treasurer Chris Essex and Chair John Davies, who as part of his speech expressed sincere thanks to all those who had supported the Saltford community over the past year.

SPC is pleased to announce the winners of its Community Awards 2022 as follows:
