Saltford Parish Council agrees its precept for 2022/23 - Saltford Parish Council

Saltford Parish Council discussed and agreed its 2022/23 draft budget – including the precept – at its December 2021 meeting.

A copy of the draft December minutes will be made available on SPC’s ‘Meetings – Agendas and Minutes‘ page approximately one week after the 7 December meeting.

The Council agreed a proposed 7% increase on the precept, levying a proposed precept of £41,005 in 2022/23.

In 2021/22, SPC levied a precept of £38,322. This was the third lowest precept levied in the B&NES Council area when compared to the 50 other precepted areas (not including Bath itself).

B&NES Council does not release Saltford’s tax base until late 2021 / early 2022 (the tax base is required to calculate what an average Band D property will pay). As such as an indication only, based on the 2021/22 tax base for Saltford, a 7% increase in the precept for 2022/23 means that an average Band D property will pay c.£22.56 p.a. This is an indicative increase of c.£1.48 per year for an average Band D property in Saltford (or c.12.3p per calendar month).

Once B&NES Council has informed Saltford Parish Council of its tax base, information on the exact amount an average Band D property in Saltford will pay will be shared on SPC’s Finance page. SPC will also share this information on its social media pages (Facebook and Twitter), SPC’s e-newsletter and SCAN page, as well as on its noticeboard.

For information about how Saltford Parish Council spends its precept, financial matters are recorded in SPC’s minutes, and the minutes also include monthly financial reports and schedules of expenditure.

Saltford Parish Council’s annual accounting statements and audit information can be found under the ‘Finance – Audits’ section of the website.
