Saltford Parish Council thanks the Saltford Santa Dash team for getting in touch with information ahead of this Sunday’s event. Saltford looks forward to welcoming approximately 650 Santas (adults and children) plus the many people too who come along to support and watch the event.

The sight of hundreds of Santas (and mini-Santas!) running through the village is now something of a Saltford tradition. In July, SPC was pleased to award the Saltford Santa Dash team a grant of £275 towards the costs of ‘sum-up’ e-readers for donations to help raise funds for worthy charities. Details can be found in SPC’s July 2023 minutes. SPC looks forward to seeing these in use for the first time in 2023, and at future Saltford Santa Dashes.
Those watching or participating in the Saltford Santa Dash are encouraged to walk to the event where possible. If driving, those taking part or watching are asked to park on roads away from Saltford Sports Club’s grounds. If parking, please do so with consideration to residents who live in the area. Information about parking in Saltford can be found on SPC’s website under ‘Visitor Information‘.
SPC reminds all drivers in the area on Sunday that there will be hundreds of runners out on the roads. Please see the map below for route information (two routes in 2023, 5 mile and 5km). Stewards will be present to assist runners on both routes. Please be aware if driving that there may be short delays in the area to help keep runners safe, with appreciation for patience at the time.

The children’s run starts at 10:00 on the Sports Field (Saltford Playing Fields) and the adults start from the field at 11:00 on either the 5 km route or the 5 mile route. Route maps attached for information.
Joe Sims from Radio Bristol is starting the runs and the weather forecast is currently looking dry – albeit cold – for the day. Organisers say the more supporters cheering on the runners the better!
