There is a by-election in the Saltford Ward on Thursday 16 January 2025, following the resignation of Councillor Alison Streatfeild-James. Poll cards to all registered voters are being sent out.

Will Godfrey, Returning Officer for Bath & North East Somerset Council, said: “This election is an important opportunity for residents of Saltford Ward to have a say on who makes decisions about issues that directly affect day-to-day life in their ward. Please make sure that you are registered to vote, especially if you have just turned 18 or moved house recently. If in doubt, contact us on 01225 477333 or elections@bathnes.gov.uk.”
Residents voting at a polling station will need to show photo ID. A list of accepted forms of photo ID is available on the council website https://www.bathnes.gov.uk/photo-id-voting or by calling 01225 477333.
Voters without an accepted form of photo ID can apply for a free Voter Authority Certificate online via www.gov.uk/apply-for-photo-id-voter-authority-certificate or by completing a paper form, which can be requested either by calling 01225 477333 or by emailing elections@bathnes.gov.uk. The deadline to apply for a certificate for this by-election is 5pm, Wednesday 8 January 2025. More information about photo ID can be found online at: https://www.bathnes.gov.uk/photo-id-voting
New applications to vote by proxy must be received by the Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm, Wednesday 8 January 2025.
