Saltford Parish Council is pleased to announce the launch of the SPC Community Awards 2021. This year there are double the number of categories to reflect the outstanding efforts of those in Saltford who have offered help and support during the COVID19 pandemic.
Awards are given for an outstanding contribution, performance or commitment to Saltford. All awards are to recognise those individuals and groups that have made and are making a positive contribution to Saltford life, and who show leadership, initiative or commitment in the local community.
Categories are as follows:
- Young Person of the Year in Saltford Award
- Young Person of the Year in Saltford Award – COVID19 response
- Volunteer Team of the Year in Saltford Award
- Volunteer Team of the Year in Saltford Award – COVID19 response
- Saltford – Achievement Award
- Saltford – Achievement Award – COVID19 response
- Business in the Community Award
- Business in the Community Award – COVID19 response
Anyone can nominate an individual, group or business for a Community Award. Nomination forms and criteria information is available here. The last date to submit a nomination form is Friday 5th March 2021.
Cllr Chris Warren, Chair of Saltford Parish Council, says in support of the awards: ‘The community’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic has been amazing. We are delighted to have added four categories to the 2021 awards in recognition of the remarkable contributions made over the past year. Outside of COVID-19 responses, there are many active individuals and groups in Saltford who also deserve recognition in 2021 for their community spirit. Saltford Parish Council is delighted to be able to celebrate the many positive actions of local people, groups and businesses through its annual Community Awards’.
Along with public recognition for their contribution to the Saltford community at the awards ceremony, winners also will receive a certificate and £75 towards their chosen Saltford group, project, cause or charity.
SPC will combine the postponed 2020 awards with 2021’s Community Awards ceremony on Friday 21st May 2021 at Saltford Hall (pending regulations). This will be part of Saltford’s Annual Parish Meeting, as well as being a joint ‘big thank you’ celebration with the Saltford Community Association. More information will be shared nearer the time.
