Struggling with the rising cost of living? Join the Keynsham Area Forum to find out about available support - Saltford Parish Council

Residents struggling with the rising cost of living can find out about local support and advice services at the next meeting of the Keynsham Area Forum.

The Keynsham Area Forum is open to anyone to attend and focuses on the communities of Saltford as well as Keynsham, Compton Dando, Corston, Marksbury, and Whitchurch.  It is supported by Bath & North East Somerset Council and brings together public services, local organisations and residents to improve local engagement, encourage people to talk to each other and share their skills and ideas.

Speakers at the meeting which will be held via Zoom on Thursday 17 February at 6pm, will include Citizens Advice Bath and North East Somerset, B&NES Council Welfare Support, Great Western Credit Union, Gambling Awareness and Stop Loan Sharks.

B&NES Council’s Cllr Kevin Guy, leader of the council said: “With inflation currently at 5.4% and energy prices rocketing, many families are feeling the pressure on their finances.  There are lots of organisations locally that provide advice and support for people struggling to make ends meet and during the meeting residents will be able to find out more about their work.”

Chair of the Forum, Cllr Alan Hale said: “The Forum is a great place to discuss issues that affect our community and look at how we can work together to help each other.  As community leaders, we can help those services link up with local grassroot organisations and support those in real need.”

The Forum is one of five within Bath and North East Somerset.  The others are Bath, Chew Valley, Bathavon and Somer Valley. You can find more information and meeting dates on the council website.
