Temporary parking restrictions, High St & Mead Lane, Wed 29 Nov - Fri 1 Dec (Wessex Water) - Saltford Parish Council

There will be a Temporary Traffic Restriction Order for High Street and Mead Lane in Saltford on Wednesday 29 November, Thursday 30 November, and Friday 1 December. Restrictions will be in place between 9am and 4pm each day.

Wessex Water, who require access on these roads for large vehicles, has written a letter to residents about the requirement for this TTRO.

The temporary traffic restrictions are to allow Wessex Water to deliver via articulated wagons c.12 welfare cabins for work at the Mead Lane site. Due to their large width and length, the specialist supplier is only able to bring four per day. Traffic movement will be spaced to avoid congestion along the High Street.

The welfare cabins will allow Wessex Water to continue enabling works and preparatory works on site for the water recycling centre extension whilst completing the road connection and continuing to make best use of the equipment already on site, thereby reducing parking restrictions for their removal.

As during previous large vehicle movements, a Wessex Water marshal will be on hand to assist with vehicle access and exit to and from the area in front of Saltford Court as necessary.

Wessex Water will attempt to meet any special needs or concerns of any residents when the restrictions are in place. These requests should be phoned through to the Wessex Water team on 07717 355917 prior to the start of these restrictions.

As with the previous TTROs (temporary parking restrictions), Wessex Water have written to customers and businesses, and have sent a copy of the information to SPC and B&NES Ward Councillors for information.

Wessex Water will also be sharing a further update with the community on the progress of the access road and further details about the expansion work at the water recycling centre in the January/February edition of the Saltford Community Association (SCAN) Newsletter.

All queries about the works need to be directed to Wessex Water. There is also information about the Mead Lane / bridge works scheme on Wessex Water’s website, which can be found at www.wessexwater.co.uk/saltfordaccess (image below from website). Wessex Water have said that they will update this page with any useful information in due course.
