Upcoming gully cleansing works on High Street, Saltford – 27 to 31 October 2025 (9:30am-3pm)

Residents and businesses are advised that gully cleansing and CCTV drainage inspection works are scheduled to take place on High Street, Saltford from Monday 27th to Friday 31st October 2025, between the hours of 9:30am and 3:00pm daily. (Road signs state works end at 3:30pm, this is to account for removing works at the end of each day to reduce backlog).

SPC anticipates that these essential works are being carried out to ensure the proper maintenance of drainage infrastructure and help prevent future flooding or blockages on High Street.
B&NES Council contacted Saltford Parish Council (SPC) and B&NES Council’s two Saltford Ward Councillors on 19 September 2025 to advise of these upcoming works. The following was also shared:

- Diversion Route
A clearly signed diversion route will be in place during working hours. Please view the plan/map as a PDF and as shown below for details of the route. Information is also on One.Network . Pedestrian access will be maintained (as supported by marshals, see below). - Traffic Marshals on Site
Traffic Marshals will be onsite to assist residents and pedestrians. - Emergency Access Maintained
Access for emergency vehicles will be maintained at all times. - No Disruption to Waste Collections
Waste and recycling collections will go ahead as usual and are not expected to be affected by the works. - Parking Restrictions
Temporary parking restrictions will only be enforced in areas directly affected by gully cleansing activities. If you are a resident with concerns about access or parking, please speak directly with the on-site Supervisor, who will be available throughout the works. - Resident & Business Notification
Letter drops are being delivered to nearby residents and businesses to ensure everyone is fully informed about the upcoming works and any temporary restrictions.
SPC sought clarification on pedestrian access during the works, and received the following response: ‘Pedestrians will have full access, no need for them to use the diversion route, we will have marshals onsite to assist them around the works safely so they can continue the journey with as little disruption as possible‘.
SPC had flagged pooling of water on High St to B&NES Council, and welcomes B&NES Council’s works to ensure maintenance of gullies at this location.
