Fireworks in Saltford: Be a firework friendly neighbour & local display listings - Saltford Parish Council

As the nights grow darker and celebrations like Bonfire Night and New Year’s Eve approach, Saltford Parish Council (SPC) encourages all residents to enjoy fireworks safely, respectfully, and considerately.

While fireworks can be a fun and festive part of the season, they can also cause distress to some residents, as well as to pets, livestock, and wildlife. That’s why it’s important to be mindful of how and when we use them.

Top Tips for considerate firework use

  • 🎆 Let your neighbours know in advance if you’re planning fireworks – especially those with animals, young children, or elderly family members.
  • 🔇 Consider low-noise fireworks, which still offer a colourful display without the loud bangs. Or start off with quieter fireworks so that neighbours can get their pets inside and prepare in other ways.
  • ♻️ Clean up afterwards – disposing of litter and debris protects our green spaces and wildlife.

Public Displays in/near Saltford – A safer, shared option

Attending an organised firework display is often safer and more considerate than setting off fireworks at home – and a great way to celebrate with the wider community. SPC encourages local groups and organisations to promote their public displays in advance, giving residents the opportunity to take necessary precautions for themselves and their pets.

SPC aims to share information about upcoming public displays to help keep the community informed. Below is a list of firework events that may be heard in Saltford. Please note: this is not a complete list (only events SPC is currently aware of), and it does not include private displays. Event details may change at short notice, and SPC is not affiliated with any listed events. For information, please contact the organisers directly.

SPC Supports Quieter Fireworks

SPC has previously called on national organisations to limit the volume of fireworks and supports the wider use of quieter alternatives to reduce disruption across the village.

In addition to raising awareness of local firework events, in 2022, SPC wrote to the Local Government Association to lobby for a limit to the maximum noise level of fireworks to 90dB for those sold to the public for private displays and also requested the Government to better regulate fireworks by limited in the noise level for those used in public displays to 90dB. Please see SPC’s news article here.

Thank you for helping to make celebrations enjoyable – and manageable – for everyone in Saltford, including our four-legged friends!
