Four Saltford schemes requested by SPC shown in B&NES Council's new interactive Transport Action Map - Saltford Parish Council

S[C is pleased to see that four schemes for the village included in B&NES Council’s new interactive Transport Action Map were those requested by SPC.

B&NES Council, in its press release and launch of the map, states that it is ‘an innovative and interactive tool that highlights more than 200 current and future transport projects set to be delivered, developed and studied over the next three years’ and that ‘the Transport Action Map offers residents, businesses and stakeholders a comprehensive overview of the council’s ambitious plans to enhance transportation infrastructure across the district’.

The following schemes from the Transport Action Map as requested by SPC are as follows (including links to the B&NES Council website):

20mph Speed Limit introduction on ‘the lanes’ between Saltford and Keynsham (Courtenay Road/Manor Road), initially requested by SPC and then in a joint request with Keynsham Town Council to B&NES Council in September 2023 https://www.bathnes.gov.uk/…/transporta…/details.html…

Options Assessment of Saltford Railway Station – SPC’s requested an investigation into the feasibility of reopening Saltford railway station for many years, including meetings with WECA together with Ward Cllr Duncan Hounsell https://www.bathnes.gov.uk/…/transporta…/details.html…

Installation of a central pedestrian refuge on Bath Road (hill) A4 Saltford to facilitate safer crossing. First requested by SPC in 2019 and we’ve been working on this since alongside B&NES Ward Cllr Duncan Hounsell. https://www.bathnes.gov.uk/…/transporta…/details.html…

And already achieved, SPC’s request – again working with Cllr Duncan Hounsell – for the closure of Manor Road ‘lane’ (stretch of road to south of Montague Road) to motor traffic https://www.bathnes.gov.uk/…/transporta…/details.html…
