If residents wish to see planning applications for Saltford received, under consideration and/or consultation by B&NES Council that are likely to be considered by SPC at a forthcoming SPC monthly meeting, these can be found on the B&NES Council website’s weekly list at https://www.bathnes.gov.uk/webforms/planning/search.html#weeklyList However please feel free to contact SPC to find out when a planning application will be, or has been, discussed.
Saltford Parish Council does not send letters notifying neighbours of planning applications to be discussed by the Parish Council. Planning applications that SPC is consulted on are usually discussed and resolved either at the upcoming meeting of the Parish Council or the one that follows, pending on when it has been received. On request, B&NES Council often permits SPC a time extension to respond according to its scheduled meeting dates.
The onus is on a member of the public to view SPC’s agendas to view items that the Parish Council will discuss, this includes any planning consultations received from B&NES Council (the Planning Authority).
SPC publishes its notice of a meeting and an agenda a few days (at least three days) before a meeting. The agenda will detail any planning application to be discussed and resolved. SPC shares its agenda on its website and noticeboard, and planning consultation information is often shared as a post on its social media pages too. Residents are encouraged to check SPC’s website and noticeboard or follow our social media posts for information about planning consultations that the Parish Council will look to respond to.
Meeting dates are on the SPC website. Residents are welcome to attend and speak during ‘Public Time’ (time permitting) on any planning consultations listed on the agenda. Please see our ‘Meetings – Agendas and Minutes‘ page for more information, including SPC’s Public Engagement Guidelines.
More information on SPC’s role in the planning process can be found on its ‘How can members of the public make their views known? (Commenting on Planning Applications)‘ page.
