SPC doesn’t usually meet in August, but we’ve made an exception this year due to the ‘pre-election period’ ahead of July’s general election delaying some matters e.g. consultations. Due to this, SPC is holding an extra ‘ordinary’ (Full Council) meeting this month so it can respond by the consultation end dates.
SPC normally holds a Planning Committee meeting in August to respond to planning consultations in the time permitted by the Planning Authority (B&NES Council) as well as to address other Planning items. All Planning Matters that would have been included in the August Planning Committee agenda are on August’s extra ‘ordinary’ agenda (under Item 10).
At SPC’s Full Council meeting in August it will resolve its response to B&NES Council’s Parking Charge Review consultation as on the B&NES Council website at https://beta.bathnes.gov.uk/parkingchargereview (end date: 8 Aug). SPC’s Full Council is also meeting so it can respond to the Traffic Regulation Order consultation to close a section of Manor Road to motor vehicles as detailed on the B&NES Council website at https://www.bathnes.gov.uk/…/temporary-traffic…/24-021 (end date: 15 Aug). At its September 2024 meeting next month, SPC will resolve its responses to B&NES Council’s two strategic transport consultations ‘Creating Sustainable Communities in North East Somerset: The Journey to Net Zero’ at https://beta.bathnes.gov.uk/creating-sustainable… and ‘Active Travel Masterplan at https://beta.bathnes.gov.uk/active-travel-masterplan Look out for SPC’s September agenda which will be issued at the end of August. Due to not usually meeting in August, Parish Councils have been granted a time extension to respond to the strategic travel consultations. However residents have an earlier consultation end date and need to respond to these two B&NES Council consultations by 5pm on 20 August. More information is available in our article:
